Dear Reader,
The players in the global trade scene focus on new economics where the strategic and political frameworks are mostly drawn, as they struggle with round after round of intertwined crises in recent years. In this process, the restructuring of international trade and the new trends in supply, in turn, brings about new opportunities for strong manufacturing centers like Bursa.
At Bursa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, through all the projects we implement, we try to invigorate the industries, to facilitate the employment of even more people, and to write the names of our city and our country in the list of winners.
Every project we implement for Bursa in line with our development targets, ranging from TEKNOSAB to Bursa Model Plant, GUHEM, BUTEKOM, BTSO MESYEB, BUTGEM, Global Trade Show Agency, and Trade Safari, are directly reflected on our performance in terms of value-added production, quality employment, and foreign trade figures.
On the other hand, the projects we develop to improve the level of international competitiveness, with the help of the Ministry of Trade, are being implemented to provide access to global markets, to improve the design, brand, quality and technology of our export products, and to facilitate competition on the added value front instead of price for our exporter members.
The firms involved in these projects are taking the bar higher and higher with their foreign trade targets, thanks to quality management and institutional resource planning trainings and consultancy services they receive.
More than 1,000 enterprises, which enhanced their systems and capabilities with the help of our overseas operations and procurement committees arrangements, improve Bursa’s foreign trade score, with their export performance levels well above the industry averages. Given their robust potential to comfortably meet the quality and quantity requirements of global demand, our firms reinforce our confidence for an even stronger Bursa and Turkey.
I am confident that all the firms included in the projects to improve international competitiveness will take even more prominent roles on the global scene, as the cards are getting a reshuffle in the international game. I hope that our efforts within the framework of the project will be beneficial for all, and wish you convenience and success in your endeavors.
Yours respectfully,
İbrahim BURKAY
